Terms & Conditions
The agreement between Sketch & Stitch and anyone who uses this website or orders from it.
Who we are
Sketch & Stitch is an online shop in Egypt that makes customers’ own designs on garments, to order. It is operated by [to confirm: registered legal name of the business], commercial registration number [to confirm: commercial registration number], tax registration number [to confirm: tax registration number], registered at [to confirm: registered business address].
You can reach us through Contact on WhatsApp (opens WhatsApp) or email sketchstitch190@gmail.com. [to confirm: the business telephone number and email address to publish (research (unofficial translation, for the lawyer to confirm): Law 181/2018 Art. 37 requires a remote seller to give its name, address, telephone number, email if available, and commercial registration and tax card numbers before the contract)].
[to confirm: an Arabic version of these terms, and which language prevails (research (unofficial translation, for the lawyer to confirm): Law 181/2018 Art. 5 requires documents, including electronic ones, to be in Arabic)]
Using this website
By using this website or placing an order you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
You must be [to confirm: minimum age to place an order, or the requirement for a guardian’s consent] to place an order.
Please use the website lawfully. Do not try to interfere with it, get around its security, or reach accounts or information that are not yours.
Your account
You need an account to save a design to it or to place an order. Sign-in is provided by Clerk, a third-party identity service: your password and sign-in details are held by Clerk, not by us.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details private and for what is done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe someone else has used it.
Made to order
Every Sketch & Stitch piece is made to order: we make it after you order it, with your design. We do not hold finished stock, and no stock count is shown or applies.
A garment, colour or size can only be ordered while we offer it. We may pause one when its fabric or blank cannot be sourced for a while; a paused option cannot be chosen or ordered until it is offered again. Making a piece to order is not a promise that every garment, colour or size will always be available from our suppliers.
Designing and approving your design
You design your garment yourself in the studio, with text and any pictures you upload. Before you order, the studio, your bag and checkout show the garment, its fit, colour and size, and every image and text box with where it sits. The studio also tells you when an image is likely to print soft at the size you chose, when part of a design runs over a seam, and when an image’s file is missing - an order cannot be placed while a file is missing.
Placing the order is your approval of the design, garment, fit, size and colour as shown. We make the design you approved; we do not change its spelling, wording, placement or image quality. [to confirm: whether the business checks designs before printing, and whether it contacts the customer about a problem it notices].
The Artwork Policy explains file quality, print sizes and colours, and forms part of these terms.
Choosing your size, and how the previews work
Each garment has its own size guide, with its measurements. Please choose your size from it; the size you choose is the size we make.
The 3D preview shows where your design will sit and how large it will be. It is a preview on a screen: colours, placement and scale on the finished garment can differ slightly.
For some garments - at present the Regular T-Shirt, the Box Fit T-Shirt and the Box Fit Hoodie - the photographs and the 3D preview show another of our garments as a stand-in. Where they do, the product page and the studio say so. The garment you receive is the one you ordered, with its own cut and proportions, described by its own size guide; the stand-in’s shape is not a measurement of it.
Your artwork and its rights
Your artwork remains yours. By uploading artwork or placing an order you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it, including any logos, photographs, characters, names and trademarks in it, and that printing it does not break the law or anyone else’s rights. You give us permission to store, reproduce and print it for the purpose of making, delivering and supporting your order.
We may decline or cancel an order whose design we reasonably believe is unlawful or infringes someone’s rights, or falls into the content we do not print as set out in the Artwork Policy. If we cancel a paid order for this reason, [to confirm: what the customer receives: a full refund, or otherwise - to be decided with a lawyer].
You are responsible for claims made against us because of artwork you supplied, to the extent the law allows.
Prices
Prices are shown in Egyptian pounds (EGP). [to confirm: whether the prices shown include VAT and any other taxes].
The price of a customised garment is the garment’s own price plus a set charge for each image and each text box on it, front and back counted together. The charges are shown in the studio, in your bag and at checkout. Every price is worked out again by our system from your saved design before it goes in your bag and before an order is placed; a price sent from a browser is never used.
The price of an order is the one shown at checkout when you place it. We may change prices at any time, but a change does not affect an order already placed.
Delivery
Delivery is free: we charge nothing for delivering an order to an address we deliver to in Egypt. There is no delivery fee by governorate, no minimum order for free delivery, and no packing or handling charge.
We deliver to every governorate in Egypt. An order cannot be placed for an address we do not deliver to, and you are told so before you pay. The Shipping & Delivery Policy forms part of these terms.
Payment
You can pay by InstaPay transfer, as offered at checkout: after placing your order you send its exact total from your own app to the account shown on your order page, and tell us the number or InstaPay address you sent it from. An order that is not paid within the time shown on its page is cancelled. [to confirm: card payment through Paymob, a payment service provider, once the Paymob merchant account is active and connected]. Card details would be entered on Paymob’s own pages and are not received or stored by us. We do not take cash on delivery.
We start making an order only once its payment has been confirmed: by the payment provider for a card payment, or by us, after checking that the transfer reached our account, for InstaPay and Vodafone Cash.
Your order
After you place an order you see its order number, and the order appears in your account. [to confirm: when the contract is formed: on placing the order, on payment, or on our confirmation that it has been accepted].
We may refuse or cancel an order if the item cannot be made, the price or description was clearly wrong, payment is not confirmed, or the design cannot be printed as described in these terms. [to confirm: how and when the customer is told, and what is refunded].
An order that is not paid for within the time allowed is cancelled automatically. Nothing is charged for it.
[to confirm: the written order confirmation sent once an order is placed; no email service is connected yet] [to confirm: the business details the written confirmation must carry (research (unofficial translation, for the lawyer to confirm): Law 181/2018 Art. 38 requires a confirmation once the order is placed, by email if wished, with no terms different from the offer)].
Cancelling an order
Because each piece is made for you, [to confirm: whether and until which stage an order can be cancelled by the customer (for example before production starts), and whether any charge applies - this needs the owner’s approval and legal review (research (unofficial translation, for the lawyer to confirm): Law 181/2018 Art. 38 lets a consumer correct an order within seven working days of acceptance, and Executive Regulations Art. 25 excludes custom-manufactured products from that right)].
Making and delivering your order
Your order goes through two stages: we make it, then a courier delivers it. Making usually takes 3 to 5 working days. Courier times are in the Shipping & Delivery Policy, and checkout shows both for your governorate before you pay. Times are estimates, not guarantees, and we tell you if your order will be late.
You can follow your order’s status in your account.
Returns, refunds and faulty items
What happens if something is wrong with your order, and when a personalised piece can be returned, is set out in the Returns & Refunds Policy, which forms part of these terms. It does not take away any right you have under Egyptian law.
Customer support
For help with a design, a size, an order or a delivery, contact us through Contact on WhatsApp (opens WhatsApp) or email sketchstitch190@gmail.com. WhatsApp is a support chat with a person at Sketch & Stitch; messages are not sent automatically, and it is not an automatic tracking service.
Our name, logo and website
The Sketch & Stitch name and logo, and the website’s design, text, photographs and software, belong to [to confirm: registered legal name of the business] or to those who license them to us. You may not copy or use them except as the law allows. Your own designs are yours, as above.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right you have under the Egyptian Consumer Protection Law (Law No. 181 of 2018) and its executive regulations, or any other right that cannot be excluded by agreement. [to confirm: any limitation of liability, to be drafted by a lawyer in a form that respects mandatory consumer rights; none is stated here].
Changes, law and disputes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to an order is the one published when the order was placed.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt. [to confirm: the courts or dispute procedure that apply, and the consumer complaints route (research (unofficial translation, for the lawyer to confirm): disputes under Law 181/2018 go to the Economic Courts (promulgation Art. 2); the Consumer Protection Agency takes complaints on hotline 19588 and at cpa.gov.eg, and can decide replacement or refund disputes (Art. 52))].
